Barbara has been practicing yoga since 2002 and became a yoga teacher in 2018 while living in BC.
The functional approach to yoga as taught by Paul Grilley formed a fundamental part of her training and it has essentially changed her take on yoga. Whereas before she was trying to master certain poses, she is now acknowledging that bodies differ greatly in their builds and that some poses will simply not be part of her practice. Anatomy forms an important part in her teachings and she will continuously guide her students to listen to their own body signals. Knowing that it is ultimately your skeletal system that defines how you “do a yoga pose“, Barbara will always offer modifications. In her classes, students will have the opportunity to practice with the added support of props, the use of a wall, balls for body rolling or even aerial silks. Getting into their physical body is only the first step; from here her students will go deeper and connect to their subtle energy bodies.
