What we do in class
Body Rolling is a simple but highly effective self-massage method. We use grippy, pliable rubber balls to help us get rid of adhesions in our myofascia (muscles & fascia). Your awakened body awareness will allow you to find trigger points and it will help you to identify your body blind spots. Through simple yet detailed instructions we will go over the anatomy of our bodies and you will learn “to map your body”. Each week we will focus on a different area. This could be for example an entire seam along the anatomy trains in our fascial network. Alternatively we could pick a specific section of our myofascia. Body Rolling, much like a massage, leaves you relaxed and refreshed – and much more aware of your own body with an enhanced proprioception!
How we practice mindfulness
Mindfulness is the practice of focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. We always encourage you to be mindful and Body Rolling gives you an excellent opportunity to listen to your body’s signals. The main emphasis is to never aggravate an already sore area, but to release tension, be it physical or emotional.
