What we do in class
Elevate your practice by taking it to the air! Instead of performing yoga poses on the mat, we use silk hammocks suspended from the ceiling to practice the same asanas. The silk, which is actually a special nylon that stretches only in one direction, serves as a support prop much like a yoga strap, blocks or a bolster. Props help us to improve our range of motion and to gain more flexibility. An aerial silk takes this to the next level. The silk can also eliminate pressure off certain areas, allowing for challenging poses like shoulderstand to be done with greater ease. The silk might hang as low as 6 inches from the ground for a passive restorative class or around 3 feet off the ground for an active and strengthening class. With aerial yoga, the options and benefits are endless.
How we practice mindfulness
Mindfulness is the practice of focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.
