We don’t use the body to get into the pose, we use the pose to get into the body.

Bernie Clarke

Yin Yoga teacher and author

Here at Loving Yoga, we want to share our love of yoga and the benefits of understanding how our bodies work. We know yoga is good for all shapes, sizes, ages…. yoga is for EVERY BODY.

Our strong focus on mindfulness permeates our classes, but also shows up in our connection to the beauty of our surroundings on the Bruce Peninsula. We plan Bruce Trail hikes, events, educational seminars, beer and farm gatherings – with yoga at the centre of it all. Come join us in these endeavours and find yourself Loving Yoga.

Why Choose Us?

We live intentionally, with the aim of fostering loving kindness toward ourselves, others and the world.

You will find us to be welcoming and non-judgemental. We offer a variety of styles, with something for everyone.

The principles of the Yamas & Niyamas guide our lives and our practice.
Yamas: non-violence, truthfulness, non stealing, non-excess, non-possessiveness
Nyamas: purity, contentment, self study, self discipline, surrender

This isn’t to say that it is always easy, but it makes all the difference in our practice and in our lives.

What people say about us

  • About a year ago we started our weekly yoga sessions with Barbara. We are an international group of friends, practicing yoga together despite living in different time zones! Barbara is super friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. She takes the time to address individual problems, questions and needs. During my preparation for a marathon she adapted the classes and supported me on my challenging journey. I’m excited to continue learning and practicing yoga. Namaste!    – January 2022

  • Finding a teacher who can lead but also encompass everyone’s pace simultaneously is a rare thing but Barbara manages to do it with ease. Her calm demeanor and focus on the task at hand is infectious. She doesn’t let her own enjoyment distract her from the needs of her students. She uses her extensive knowledge of the human body to explain the choice of the exercise for each lesson. Not only providing relaxation but imparting deeper understanding of the practice. – August 2021

  • I owe much of my continued mobility to Barbara.  When Barbara started teaching Yin Yoga classes, I was glad to add the gentle stretches to my regimen.  Then, when she added a mixed class of classic Yin combined with strengthening and energizing Yang, I found that I was able to keep up and continue to strengthen.   And when she added Body Rolling as an adjunct to the Yin classes, I found that this, too, improved my mobility.   Even though my second round of hip replacement surgery has been postponed by the pandemic, I am far better prepared for that surgery than I was for the first.  Additionally, the mindfulness that Barbara teaches has also better prepared me mentally for any new challenges. – July 2021

  • I’m full of gratitude and happiness for the experience, exploration and benefits of these sessions with Nina. I can’t say enough how working with Nina has been revelatory, inspiring, and body and life altering. I felt we spoke a familiar language. Nina was wonderful to work with. I felt connected, relaxed, safe and trusting during all our work together. I reaped an abundance of personal understanding, knowledge and practical learning due to Nina’s wealth of knowledge and clear and articulate communication. I appreciated her energy, intimacy, caring and thoughtfulness throughout our sessions. I look forward with delight to continuing my work with Nina. – May 2018

  • Hi Nina, I have been enjoying your yoga recordings.  I’m glad to have the break in August – heat, harvest, and the fact that summer is just so busy in general. I still use what you have taught in day-to-day activities.  I do fluid balance poses while waiting for the grain to unload.  People driving by will think I’m crazy, but that is OK.  At the end of the day, when I’m tired and it has been so hot, I just try to stand in mountain pose.  Perhaps not so noticeable from the road. Have a great summer and I look forward to yoga in September. – August 2020
